Emergency Response at TSD Facilities
Your written safety and health program must include a plan that ensures employees know what to do during an emergency at the facility. The requirements depend on whether employees evacuate the site or actively respond to an emergency.
- If employees are evacuated during an emergency and do not assist in responding to the emergency, then see the requirements in 29 CFR 1910.38 Emergency Action Plans.
- If employees will remain on site during an emergency or assist in responding to an emergency, the requirements of the plan are described in 29 CFR 1910.120(b), Hazardous waste operations and emergency response.
