Sample PPE Inspection Checklists

Supplied-Air Respirators

Regular inspection helps to identify potential issues, damages, or wear that could compromise the respirator's performance, thus reducing the risk of accidents or injury.

Supplied Air Respirators

Inspect SARs at the following times:

  • at least monthly when in storage
  • every time they are cleaned

  • Check for proper setting and operation of regulators and valves (per manufacturers' recommendations).
  • Check all connections for tightness. Check material conditions for:
    • signs of pliability
    • signs of deterioration
