"Many injuries occurring onsite are due to construction personnel lacking the ability to identify the hazards. This is a result of poor education."
Patrick Gant, Managing Member
Titan, Consultants & Engineers, LLC is based in Florida and provides safety management and oversight on construction projects to ensure all personnel make it home safely. Titan ensures each project meets OSHA and prime contract safety requirements to reduce risks and hazards onsite.
Managing member, Patrick Gant, believes with the evolving and changing construction industry, it is important to stay on top of the latest trends, regulations, and contract requirements. Gant says this can be challenging, especially for blue-collar construction workers who have little time to keep up on the regulations. Therefore, he adds it is necessary for his safety officers to take the time to keep construction personnel up to date on the latest rules and regulations. “Many injuries occurring onsite are due to construction personnel lacking the ability to identify the hazards. This is a result of poor education, or lack thereof in construction safety,” Gant believes. “We lean on our safety officers to not only mitigate hazards and reduce risks but educate construction personnel out in the field,” he adds.
Gants says Titan has an excellent safety program and puts the health and safety of all affected personnel first. The company also believes it is important employees are involved in the company’s safety program. “They are the ambassadors to our safety program,” Gant adds. “It is our primary concern all affected personnel onsite make it home at the end of the day. We enforce OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and company safety standards in all projects that we manage.”
Titan mandates all their employees complete a minimum of 8-hours of continued education in occupational safety training. They also encourage everyone to receive higher levels of education and certification. All personnel must know OSHA 1926, EM 385-1-1, and ensure contract requirements are met onsite. Gant says, “Proper education is at the forefront of reducing injuries in the construction industry.” Currently, OSHAcademy provides the annual training Titan needs to keep up with the mandated educational safety standards within its organization. Currently, Titan requires all employees to take OSHAcademy courses 670 HAZWOPER 8-hour Refresher for Cleanup Operations and 817 Steel Erection Safety.
OSHAcademy would like to recognize Titan, Consultants & Engineers, LLC for their continued efforts toward workplace safety and health.
