7-7. Minimum Plan Requirements.

Night Operations Lighting Plan

  • Develop a Night Operations Lighting Plan for work performed at night. The plan must ensure all activities, areas, and operations are adequately illuminated for safe work.
  • Submit the plan to the USACE supervisor for approval or to the KO or COR for acceptance.

Components of the Plan

  • Include a map of the work area to be illuminated.
  • Specify locations of all lighting units to meet minimum lighting levels.
  • Identify the required lighting level for each area.

Responsibility and Safety

  • Designate onsite personnel responsible for verifying that the lighting plan is effective.
  • Ensure the plan does not present a glare hazard for nearby roadways and other public transportation.
