17-4. Roles and Responsibilities.
De-energizing Electrical Components and Service Lines
- The facility owner must identify, verify, and confirm in writing the de-energization of electrical components and service lines to the USACE supervisor/KO or COR and workers before work commencement.
- Provide engineering drawings indicating the location and control means of all service lines to the USACE supervisor/KO or COR.
- Ensure de-energized electrical services are secured using a Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) method and confirm this via field verification as per chapter 12.
Fire Suppression Systems
- The owner must provide written confirmation to the USACE supervisor/KO or COR of the de-activation and chemical removal from the Chemical Fire Suppression (CFS) system before starting renovation or demolition.
- If the CFS system is active after demolition begins, immediately stop work and inform the USACE supervisor/KO or COR.
- Do not abate or remove the CFS system or its components without approval from the USACE supervisor or acceptance by KO or COR.
