Use of Respirators When Not Required

Respirators and Other PPE Based on Standard and Transmission-Based Precautions
Precautions: You must provide protective clothing and equipment to each employee based on 2 tiers of recommended precautions in healthcare settings:
- Standard Precautions for all patient care, and
- Transmission-Based Precautions for patients who may be infected or colonized with certain infectious agents for which additional precautions are needed to prevent infection transmission.
