Hands On Requirement
It is critically important for a portion of the training program to include hands-on experience and exercises to provide trainees with an opportunity to become familiar with equipment and safe practices in a non-hazardous setting.
It is important you become familiar with the site-specific PPE.
Traditional hands-on training is the preferred method to ensure employees are prepared to perform these tasks safely.
The purpose of hands-on training, for example, in the donning and doffing of PPE, is twofold:
- to ensure employees have an opportunity to learn by experience, and second,
- to assess whether they have mastered the necessary skills.
