Introduction
By taking this course, safety directors, safety committee members, supervisors, and managers will gain a greater ability to identify the various categories of hazards in their workplace, and apply strategies used to make sure hazards are eliminated or reduced. Emphasis is placed on applying the "hierarchy of controls" strategies to eliminate hazards.
One of the key elements in an effective safety and health management system is a program that includes processes and procedures for effectively analyzing the workplace to uncover and control safety and health hazards. By discovering and correcting hazards proactively, the employer will not only save lives, prevent injuries and illnesses, but also improve the company's bottom line.
