OSHA regulations state that your employer is ultimately responsible for certifying you as a competent and qualified safety trainer. To be formally certified by your employer as a competent and qualified to conduct safety training within your company, you should have completed a "Train-the-Trainer" course. You must also complete other criteria your employer might have for certification. Finally, your employer should evaluate your training performance and certify in writing that you have adequate knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs) and work experience in the subject being taught.
