31-5. Inspection Requirements.

Equipment Management

  • Test electrically rated aerial devices annually using approved methods and equipment as per ANSI/SAIA A92.2 standards.
  • Follow manufacturers’ instructions for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and using equipment.

Tree Maintenance and Removal Preparation

  • A Qualified Tree Worker must inspect the tree and its surroundings, focusing on tree hazards such as dead branches, tree lean, and wildlife habitation.
  • Evaluate the location for obstacles like septic lines and potential hazards including environmental elements (e.g., weather conditions, poisonous plants) and overhead electrical lines.
  • Assess the area for risks associated with tree maintenance activities, including potential flying debris.
