Safe Lifting Techniques

Most weight-lifting injuries involve improperly lifting free weights. Free-weight injuries are also caused by people dropping weights on themselves, crushing a body part between weights, or hitting themselves with the equipment.

The top best practices for preventing weight room lifting injuries involve lifting weights using proper techniques. After warming up, lift lower weights for 12-15 repetitions as you slowly increase weights. See more information on using safe lifting techniques.
