Hand Sanitizing
The CPP should describe site-specific procedures for implementing effective hand sanitizing procedures, including:
- evaluating handwashing facilities;
- determining the need for additional facilities;
- encouraging and allowing time for employee handwashing;
- providing employees with an effective hand sanitizer;
- prohibiting hand sanitizers that contain methanol (i.e., methyl alcohol); and
- encouraging employees to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds each time.
