Pay and Benefits
The CPP should address employee compensation and benefits should employees be required to leave the workplace.
If the employee can work, the employer should continue to provide the employee’s pay and benefits. An employer may require the employee to exhaust paid sick leave benefits before providing exclusion pay.
The employer may offset payments by the amount an employee receives in other benefit payments. However, refer to state regulations for specific information on paid sick leave requirements.
If the employee’s exposure was not work-related, there is most likely no requirement to compensate or provide benefits. Again, check state regulations.
