Organizational Structure

The organizational structure of the program establishes the overall chain of command as well as the roles and responsibilities assigned to supervisors and employees.

A man in a white hard hat and an orange safety vest has his back to his camera. He is observing a truck.
This supervisor has the authority to direct all hazardous waste site operations.

The organizational structure must, at a minimum, include the following management positions:

  • a general supervisor with the responsibility and authority to direct all hazardous waste site operations,
  • a site safety and health supervisor who develops and implements the HASP and is responsible for ensuring compliance, and
  • all the other site personnel necessary for hazardous waste site operations.
