Buddy System

The use of a "buddy system" is also a component of the HASP.

These two workers are using the buddy system.

The buddy system is a protective measure to assist in the rescue of employees who might become unconscious, trapped, or seriously disabled on-site.

In the buddy system, two employees must keep in visual contact with each other. Only one employee should be in a specific dangerous area at any one time, so if one gets in trouble the second can call for help.
