Drilling Equipment
- Develop an Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) that includes overhead electrical hazards, underground utilities, UXO/hazardous agents, equipment operation zones, and assembly/disassembly of drilling equipment.
- Include operation procedures, a geotechnical survey (if available), a hard copy of the SDS for drilling fluids, and perform risk assessments as specified.
Specialty Vehicles
- Create an AHA outlining safe operations, operational work area limits, required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and vehicle safety equipment.
Remote Operated Heavy Equipment and Machinery

- Identify qualified personnel, establish processes for retrieving lost or out-of-control equipment.
Floating Equipment
- A Qualified Person (QP) must evaluate and document the safe placement, transport, and operation of equipment on floatation devices, with the documentation included in the AHA for approval by the USACE supervisor or acceptance by the KO or COR.
