Multiple Roles

As we mentioned earlier, the most successful safety committees perform the role of a internal consultant group. However, individual safety committee members may perform other roles as well. Below are examples of the various roles that may be performed by committee members, line employees, and management.

Roles Performed by Safety Committee Members:

  1. Identify Safety Hazards: Identify hazardous conditions and unsafe practices, and warn others as necessary.
  2. Review Incident Reports: Analyze accidents or near misses to prevent future occurrences.
