Program Management

It's crucial to check whether the training staff is well-trained and has the needed knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to successfully run the safety training program and teach safety training effectively.

Management should always evaluate the adequacy of safety training.

When assessing the safety training program and the qualifications of the training staff, consider these questions:

  • Training Director's Leadership: How well does the training director lead and ensure the quality of health and safety training?
  • Trainers' Capability: How equipped are the trainers to deliver high-quality safety training?
  • Clarity of Staff Responsibilities: Are the responsibilities of the training staff clearly defined?
  • Evaluation of Trainer KSAs: Have the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the safety trainers been assessed by a qualified person?
  • Certification of Safety Trainers: Are the safety trainers certified and chosen by the employer to conduct safety training?
  • Training Methods' Suitability: How appropriate and effective are the training methods used by the trainers?
  • Time Allocation by Management: Does management provide enough time for the safety training program?
  • Resource Provision by Management: Does management offer enough human and physical resources for the safety training program?
