Program Responsibilities

Hazard Identification and Control Program

Responsibilities under this program include:

  • evaluating operations, procedures, facilities, and equipment to identify hazards;
  • monitoring exposure levels;
  • ensuring regular safety and health inspections;
  • conducting accident investigations;
  • using engineering and work practice controls to eliminate health hazards; and
  • performing housekeeping to remove hazards posed by scrap and debris in work areas.

Emergency Response Program

Responsibilities under this program include:

  • developing emergency response plans;
  • developing fire prevention and protection programs;
  • activating the Emergency Response team;
  • activating additional response contractors and local resources;
  • communicating with Emergency Response Team; and
  • responding to cleanup operations.
