14-8. General Requirements.

Material Disposal

  • Dispose of waste materials in labeled containers or neatly stacked piles away from traffic and walkways.
  • For disposal from heights over 6 feet, use enclosed chutes or enclosed areas with proper barricades and warning signs.
  • Comply with specific regulations for burning operations, garbage collection, and hazardous material waste disposal.

Combustible Waste Disposal

  • Dispose of combustible materials in accordance with fire and environmental laws.

Housekeeping

  • Keep work areas and access points safe, orderly, and compliant with housekeeping requirements.
  • Secure loose materials and equipment, remove tripping hazards, and clear work areas of debris and empty material bags regularly.
  • Prevent the accumulation of combustible materials, clear weeds and grass, and clean up spills of flammable liquids immediately.
