Medical Surveillance
The purpose of medical surveillance under the HASP is to monitor and assess the health status of workers exposed to hazardous substances and when using respirators.
The employer must provide appropriate medical evaluations and follow-up. Medical surveillance must address recordkeeping, confidentiality of medical records, and the responsibilities of employers and employees regarding medical surveillance.
