6-7. Minimum Plan Requirements.

Hazard Communication (HazCom) Program

  • Hazardous Chemical Inventory: Maintain an annual or as-needed updated list of hazardous agents, their usage, quantities, and storage locations, including a site map.
  • Hazardous or Toxic Agent Labeling: Ensure containers have proper labels with information like product identifier, hazard statement(s), and manufacturer's details.
  • SDS Management and Employee Training: Maintain and provide access to Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for all hazardous agents and train employees on handling procedures.

Process Safety Management (PSM) Program

  • Chemical Threshold Management: Develop the program if chemicals exceed specified threshold quantities or involve certain flammable substances as per OSHA regulations.
  • Substance Control: Manage and store Category 1 flammable gases and flammable liquids according to OSHA guidelines.

Lead Compliance Plan

  • Work Activity Description: Detail all work activities involving lead, including equipment, crew, responsibilities, and location.
  • Exposure Control Measures: Implement a hierarchy of control measures like engineering, administrative controls, and PPE to maintain lead exposure compliance.
  • Exposure Assessment and Training: Conduct initial and continued lead exposure monitoring and provide mandatory employee training as per regulations.
