16-6. Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) Requirements.

Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) Development

  • Develop AHAs as per the specified paragraphs, ensuring documentation of crane operator certifications and qualifications before starting specific activities or tasks.

Boom Assembly and Disassembly

  • Include boom assembly and disassembly operations in the AHA and identify the associated Control Points (CPs).

Portal, Tower, and Pillar Cranes

  • Before assembly or disassembly, establish work procedures in the AHA, taking into account site-specific needs, including crane location, foundation design, and clearances.

Hoisting with Hydraulic Excavating Equipment

  • Prepare a hoisting operation specific AHA, documenting operator qualifications, operational testing, and specific conditions for equipment operation.
  • Ensure adherence to proper operating procedures, including the use of manufacturer's load rating charts, rigging inspection, and use of tag lines.
