Rope Access Supervisor/QP for Rope Access
- Must meet and possess certification/training as a Rope Access Supervisor/QP (advanced, level 3) per industry standards (ANSI Z459.1, ISO 22846-2, ASTM E2505).
Rope Access Lead Technician/Competent Person (CP) for Rope Access
- Must meet and possess certification/training as a Rope Access Lead Technician/CP (intermediate, level 2) per industry standards (ANSI Z459.1, ISO 22846-2, ASTM E2505).
Rope Access Technician/Authorized Technician
- Must meet and possess certification/training as a Rope Access Technician/Authorized Technician (basic, level 1) per industry standards (ANSI Z459.1, ISO 22846-2, ASTM E2505).
- Must have a working understanding of the Rope Access Work Plan, applicable policy, and procedures.
- Must be capable of identifying work zones, preparing JHAs, and be familiar with rescue procedures.
Additional Training and Requirements
- Provide refresher training every two years or as necessitated by changes in procedures, equipment, conditions, or performance inadequacies.
- All rope access personnel using personal fall protection equipment must have Authorized Person training as per chapter 21.
- All rope access personnel must be at least 18 years of age and physically/medically qualified for their duties.
