Preparation of Steel Erection Plan
- The Qualified Person (QP) must submit a Steel Erection Plan to the USACE supervisor, the KO, or the COR for approval or acceptance.
- The plan, signed and dated by the QP, must detail the steel erection activities, coordination procedures, stability considerations, notification processes, and material delivery methods.
- The plan should also outline the identification of staging areas, development of a Site Layout Plan (SLP), and any critical lifts.
Hazard Anticipation and Control Measures
- The plan must describe anticipated hazards, including an Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) and a fall protection plan.
- Control measures to manage these hazards to an acceptable level must be clearly outlined.
Personnel Assignment and Qualification
- Roles and responsibilities of personnel, especially the Competent Person (CP) and the QP, must be defined.
